Phillips Everette & Jones LLC - posing as a law firm

I need some advice please...about 3 years ago I took out a payday loan at cash supply (internet) for $400.00, defaulted and ended up paying national credit adjustors (collection agency) $350.00 back for this debt. There is a discrepency between NCA and myself over a $50 money order, but anyway here is my problem....
Today at work I get a call from my HR department, telling me they recieved a fax from Phillips Everette and Jones LLC asking for information on me. My HR rep told me she receives inquiries from a lot of companies for certain employees and this one looked suspicious. She told me if I wanted her to answer I would need to sign a release.
So not 20 minutes later I get a voicemail at work from the "Assistant Litigation Director" of this company stating if I dont respond I will be served a summons to my work and home and I am a defendant in a case and they are the prosecuting attorney and its in my best interest to respond asap.
So then 5 mins later my sister calls and states they called her as well threatening to take me to court if I dont respond.
Then soon after I recieve an email from these guys, stating I owe $1800.00 ......to them on behalf of cash supply!!! $1800.00 what on earth??
Unfortunantly due to not being very organized and a recent move I do not have any money order records of paying NCA......what do i do.....I do not want to loose my job. They ended up also calling my home twice and my father just today.
I'm very much doubting this is a real law firm from the hokiness of all of the calls and the general vibe I got from the voicemail. What can I do to prevent this harrassment any further?

Law firm or not, when they are a third party debt collector they
Law firm or not, when they are a third party debt collector they need to abide by the FDCPA which they seem to be violating on many counts. Anyway, you may answer a call from them and let them know that you would be expecting the dunning letter of collection. After receiving it, send them the letter of debt validation. They are required to justify their claim on the account before initiating the collection process.
