Should I press the issue?

I have a Citicard with a judgment against me of $5,100. Patenaude & Felix (the attorney's that sued me) are saying that the lowest settlement they can get me is for $2,600. I've yet to speak to an actual attorney, I can only speak to my non-attorney account rep. 50% didn't sound all that bad as far as settlement.
But then....
My husband has a Citicard that is just as delinquent as mine (almost to the month). He hasn't been sued yet. However his balance is roughly $10,200. We got a settlement offer from Northland group for about $2100.
Should I call Patenaude & Felix and press for a lower settlement offer? I mean, my husband will be settling for less on his $10,200 than I will on my $5,100. Patenaude swore the last time I talked to them that the lowest Citibank will go is $2,600. Should I call Citibank directly and make the offer and just go over P&F's head?
We only have so much money to go around as far as settling debts and I'd like to settle as many as possible with the money we do have.

Well, the difference here is that you have a judgment against you when your husband is not yet served. The terms on a judgement are more binding than others. Remember that a judgment would stay on the report till it is satisfied, making things more difficult for you.

that is the difference the judgement also costs money and thier time to file, and if they sent someone out to show up and so forth. so no matter what your stuck. Now your husband on the other hand hasnt had a judgement and considering the financial mess we are all in the courts are probably full to the max and they may be considering that its better to settle with him now than to have to wait that long to get into court. My opinion i wouldnt rock the boat. honestly both offers are excellent and i would take them right away.
