I have been contacted by this company, and I have read other posts about them using illegal tactics to collect debt. I don't really understand the whole debt collection process, so I was wondering why a company would sell a debt to a company such as this? Also, should I contact them back? They did not say on the message who they were trying to collect for, so I just don't know where to go from here.

of course, but people don't come on here looking for help against a legit collector, because a legit collector doesn't threaten like these places do.yes that post above mine is a true example.sorry a good/legit collector doesn't have to resort to that.a good collector doesn't threaten or say things they can't do.i have dealt with decent collectors.again not all collectors bad.just seems we talk about bottomfeeders here.

This company does not own your debt just like it doesn't own what they are trying to collect from me. In my case the debt isn't mine. The company that owns the debt has used a legit collector or two and I have been able to find out who owns the debt. I have also been able to find out who had the debt originally. Funny, I have a credit card with that bank. I contacted the bank and they have confirmed that the debt is not mine. Now, how do I get these people off my back? Everytime I get an address or fax number I send off a letter (form letter by this time since this has been going on for two years) telling the agency not to contact me again and that if they believe the debt is mine, send proof. I ask for a signed credit application, where the statements were mailed and a copy of one of the statements so I could see where the credit card was used. When the agency gets the letter it goes away. About 2 - 3 months later, I start getting calls from the next agency. This morning it was Kellar King. This is a bottom feeder since they go to great lengths to hide so you cannot force them to conform to federal law. I have turned this all over to my attorney. They are trying to find where the company that owns the debt is. When that happens, I will bring suit against them for the malicious collection efforts I have suffered for the last two years. Another sign the agency has no proof that the debt is not mine, it doesn't put a derog on my credit report. My credit report is clean and my FICO score is high. I will post again when I have more to say.

They just called my phone and demanded me to tell them my social security number...they wouldn't tell me who they were!!!...she got angry when I wouldn't tell her it, and then said I'm going to get sued for fraud if I don't cooperate with answering her...CRAZY!!!...who does that!...I had to call *69 to find out who had called me...Kellar King and associates need to be reported to the Better Business Bureau for that kind of unprofessional harrassment!!!

they have a website called sunbiz.org where yoou can go to see that they are a legal collection agency. However, when they call you, just tell them that they have the wrong number and they will remove it from their computer list. if you call them, they have caller id so they know whos calling and they will act like they are gonna tell their client to go ahead and persuit legal action. Well, they can all they want. All they do is send it to another collection agency and then they will start harrassing you.. They are a bunch of scammers. Thats all they are. they tell you that your debt will be settled with an out of court settlement which is half of what you owe. Why would a company settle for half. no one.they want all the money. Update yourself with FDCPA and youll know how to get these idiots off your back. Or call them at 904-672-1810 and say " you keep calling me and I dont know who but you have the wrong number" BE SURE YOU GIVE THEM YUR NUMBER. i use to work there so i know how it works......
