So I'm about 3-4 months behind on a few different cards and Friday i spoke with the Chase rep about a deal. They asked about current income (which is down big and why I'm late) and current expenses. She put me on hold and came back with a program that "just came out" last night. I pay 60% of my current balance over 5 years; ZERO intrest or fees. Can pay more or pay off early if I want to and you can miss 1 payment over that time. However, even after getting a manger on the phone, they could not give this to me in writing until the first payment was processed. I said that is absolutely unbeleivable and makes no sense and I would not do anything uless it is in writing first.

I like this plan if I get it in writing as I don't have much of an ability to do a lump sum settlement and I have a few other cards I am going to settle with to by years end. What does everyone think of this 60%, 5year pay off plan? Am i crazy for call bllshit on the manager about getting this in writing before I pay anything?

Yeah I agree on the getting it in writing part. What are you thoughts on the actual plan? 5 years, no intrest or fees, 60% settlement.?? Not to bad I'd say. I'm about 110 past due i think. Should I hold off another month or so and say if they make it 45% over same period I could afford it and try to get it lower? Thoughts?

I recently settled 3 cards with Chase and they would not give the offers to me in writing until I set up the 1st pmt. I asked and asked and they wouldn't. I settled for 45% of $44k over 3 months and reluctantly agreed without offer in writing. I set up the pmt for a few days after the phone call in the hopes that I would receive the letter before teh 1st pmt, which I did. I figured the worst case was I made the first pmt and they backed out, but lucky for me they didn't. I have all in writing.

I have a Chase card that is approaching 90 days past due and they have already sent
it to a place called IC systems to collect the debt for Chase, I believe if I do settle with
them I would make the checks payable to Chase, has anyone had this happen with there
Chase accounts, or have you been dealing with Chase directly.
