Settling With Credit Unions

I personally didn't have to deal with a credit union but have heard that it can give a tough time during settlement. Credit Unions are harder to deal with than the credit card companies. May be some other member would soon share his/her experience here.

I have two credit unions and I found it impossible to get them to settle for less that 75-80% of the balance. I finally gave up and accepted their hardship program at 100 per month for 60 months instead of letting them sue me. I was OK with this because I have been able to settle most of my VERY large credit cards with other banks so I am still saving a huge amount of money in monthly payments each month.
