I owe $3,700 and am exactly 90 days late. Recieved a call today from United Recovery Services. Does this mean now in collections? She offered me $289 down and $73 month for 6 months no interest. Then 9.9% thereafter.

What should I do next? Can I settle with them? Should I sit and wait another 30 days?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Paul,

Talked to American Express today. They said they no longer hold account and apparently sold to United Recovery. She did not use the word sold but they no longer hanlde account.

Should I call United Recovery and get address and send validation letter?

Thanks

United Recovery called again today. He actually said they did not buy and are working on behalf of American Express. Offered payment plan and new card after paid in full. I told them I would get back to them.

Now 118 days old. I never mentioned settling. Should I now or wait?

Thanks

I am now probably 180 days late on this account. Apparently American Express have now moved from United Recovery Service to James A. West law firm in Texas.

They called me today. Should I validate debt? They said American Express still holds debt and they are servicing it for them.
