Got a call from them yesterday and he would not tell me why he was calling, or even say if he was attempting to collect a debt or not until I confirmed my SSN; ya I'll get right on that.
I looked at my credit report and did not have an account in their hands, maybe something just got sold to them
He called from phone number 770-612-7267

And you're right, your post has inspired me to run right out and pay every debt collector the amount they want, regardless if it's legitimate or not and no matter how much extra fees and penalties they are tacking on to the original amount

Unfortunately, not everyone is as blessed as you to live an absolutely perfect life free from any misfortune like layoffs, illness or accidents. And it sounds like you were lucky enough to not fall victim to phony promises like taking out a second mortgage on your home was a good idea and your interest rates would never increase.
My advice to you would be to enjoy your drama free existence and not waste your time passing judgement on those who are not so lucky.

I have received calls from this number and I actually believe it was related to some info of mine scammed off craigslist dot com (at least the info they had was related to a position I applied for) I think this is a scammer personally if you find out more please post and share
I just settled with Nationwide Credit for 40% on a $9100 balance
I just settled with Nationwide Credit for 40% on a $9100 balance with Discover.
This was after 6 months.
They were the 2nd collector that Discover used. The first one was someone by the name of Bart Sandberg I think.
