Phoenix Aquisition Group - Dan Cornelius

I received a phone call from the above group indicating that they are collecting on a CashNetUSA loan. I did have a loan from them, but have paid it back. I cannot find any information on this group except there website, which says very little except that they treat customers and clients with the upmost respect. The left me a message at my work, my home, and then called my elderly mother and said they couldn't reach me could she provide them with additional contact information. When I was on the phone with them, they recorded our conversation without my permission because when I get nasty, they told me they had me on tape. Also, when I asked for a debt validation then claimed they had mailed me one. I open all my mail and never received one. The final straw was they threatened to call my supervisor.
I would appreciate any information anyone might have on this group, so I know how to move forward.
Thanks,

Did you ever receive a letter of collection in the mail? They are required by the FDCPA to send you a letter of collection via the mail within five days of their initial contact with you, at that time you can then request validation. Why would they send you validation without a request, collection agencies don't do that, they follow the protocol of the FDCPA if they are truly a legit company.

How about playing the same game with them and record the conversation when they call next time? This way you would have evidences against them when they are overstepping the FDCPA.

i like the thought, but the OP has to research their state laws in that regard.some states are two party.which means both parties must know you are recording.if the OP is in a one party state, then they can record without the caller's consent.again like the thought.

Lots of shifty CAs are known to send a dunning letter (often a shoddy or incomplete one) and claim it's validation. I had that happen to me, back when I was having so much fun poking MRS, Resurgent, and LVNV with sharp sticks.
