settling for less CC HELP!

I have a card that is deliquent for 30 days. has anyone had success calling up the hardship lines and settling for 1 lump sum.... i might come into some money shortly and would be willing to give it up in order to clean my credit/loan amount

Which credit card company? I settled with B of A and I didn't even have to call them. They called ME and made an offer. Settled for 33%. With Discover I made a deal when they called to lower interest and pay minimum for 1 year - renegotiate after that time.
HSBC called and made me an offer. 50% on balance of $3900 over 4 payments.
