when starting your negotiations you should start out fairly low
when starting your negotiations you should start out fairly low at first to give room for negotiation. but most people are happy with around a 30% settlement. but as soaplady stated it all depends on the creditor too if your dealing with one that most people end up in court over you may want to go higher to keep your butt from ending up in court.
