I got call for 716-362-0391...it's the same company for CashNetUSA. They said they were filing fraud charges against me for taking a loan and then closing my checking account. I asked the guy, "Exactly how are you filing charges with me if you are not a law enforcement body i.e. police department." He started telling me that I was just "stupid and crazy" word for word. I then began to educate him that he could not legally threaten me when he himself was not a judicial and/or law enforcement body, and I also stated that I would like proof of CashNetUSA's licensure to lend in the State of Utah as well as his right to collect in the State of Utah. He got very beligerant to me telling how crappy I was and asking how I didn't need proof of their right to lend money when I wanted to borrow it and that it's odd that I want license-to-lend proof NOW that I have to pay the money back. He kept asking, "Didn't you take the money? Didn't you take the money?" The loan was for $300. I made 4 interest payments. As I see it, unless they can provide proof to me, I owe them nothing because without a lending license, they can't charge interest, right??? Oh, let me add that they actually called twice...the first was a woman. She wouldn't hear anything I had to say and at the end, she said, "You're a sorry excuse for an adult." Would a "legal counselor" or any type of governmental representative/police officer/detective/judge make an insult like that, knowing the repercussions??? This company is so bogus. I finally said to the guy, "Anything you have, send it to me in the mail -otherwise- I will not do business with you." He hung up. Guess we'll see if they call tomorrow....

I too have recieved a call from them. They have also called my mother and told her that they were serving me papers tomorrow and that I needed to make myself available. I called and spoke with them because obviously I was scared. This was something that happened 3 years ago,. He asked me how much I could afford to pay and I said maybe 100 a month. He put me on hold so he could talk to his attorneys, and they said they would not take it. Then he said they wanted half of the settlement offer which was 358. I called back a few hours later and told them the most I could come up with ws 218. He put me on hold again and said the attorney line was busy but he would authorize the amount. He said that all court litigation would stop and he would call me Monday to continue to make payment arrangements. I have moved since I have had this loan and not once did he ask me for my address or my phone number. That is what had me thinking. I am glad to have found this info. It makes me feel better. Now I will call tomorrow and ask many of the same questions. Thanks

glad you found this forum before giving him anything.first off he wasn't speaking to anybody.he put you on hold for effect.nothing else.second you are right in your wondering why he didn't ask for your address.he most likely bought the info, and is trying to scam money out of you.another question you should ask when you call is.how can they litigate without serving you first?bottom line this is a scam, and should get nothing.
