Academy Collections - Debt Validation?

Would anyone consider this a valid response to a DV leter, since it came from the orginal creditor?
i had a third party collector send that to me. many here agreed
i had a third party collector send that to me. many here agreed it was proper validation and i did end up settling with them because of it. i figured that since they had my statements than they do have my account and I am now completely done with them.

They have properly validated. Based on how recent the account went delinquent and the 6 year SOL in NJ, your best bet is to atempt settlement. Agree to nothing unless it is in writing.

if CITI BANK assigned the account to academy.then they didn't buy the debt.that is a possiblity.check with CITI to see if you can pay them directly.
