Does anyone know this company Credit Partnership LLC? I was having my debt managed through them and then they all of a sudden disappeared! Their website creditpartnership.com is now unaccessable and the phone number (877-202-8500) is disconnected. Any advice?

Hi King Benny

I must advice you to file a police complaint against Credit Partnership and get an affidavit from them. Send this affidavit along with your complaint to the attorney general's office in your area.

As the company had been doing business in your area, they must be listed with the AG's office. After you have placed your complaint with them, investigations will be done on a serious note. Those who have been doing business with them should also file their complaints so that actions can be taken quickly.

Keep all the documents through this company in safe place. You will need it at a later stage for bringing the matter to the court.

Contact your creditors immediately and explain the situation to them. Since you are not responsible for them disappearing all of a sudden, your lenders might make new arrangements with you. Show your payment receipts that you received from the management company. Pay the remaining balance and clear the account so that your credit report is not affected.

You should also file your complaint against Credit Partnership with the FTC and the BBB. They also need to be reported about this matter so that other consumers are protected from this company.

Dear Ben,
In your response you advised me to file a police complaint. Should I just call up the police station and tell them I want to file a complaint against a business? The last time I checked, Credit Partnership was approved by the BBB. Should I contact them too, or just go straight to the police?
Thanks,
KB

No matter if a company is approved by the BBB, their fraudulent activities should be immediately reported to the concerned authorities.

You mentioned that Credit Partnership has suddenly disappeared. So, how will you contact them? Go to the police station and file a complaint against the company. The local sheriff will give you an affidavit in writing and it will serve as a proof of your actions.

I have been working with creditpartnership for the past three years, they cleared two of my debits for me, but the third one they never did, they just disappeared. I don't have any paper work from them(I contacted them through email only, and through their web site), I just have a check of about $4000 written to them to prove I gave them money. What are my chances of getting that money back.

Eric, now that the company is no more in business, only the local AG's office might make some arrangements for the people who have done business with credit partnership.

Put your complaint against credit partnership with the law enforcement agencies in your state as well the BBB and the FTC. You might have to wait for some time till the arrangements are made.

I too, have about 3500 with Credit Partnership. The last address I have for them is on Kalmia St. In Murrieta. I also have all my bank statements from the debits. I'll be going after them for everything I can. Like others said, the state attorney generals office must be hearing complaints. How about Mr. Troy Hall, the Attorney behind the company?

I as well have about $4700 with them!!! I received information about filing with the CA State Bar "Client Security fund". Because I received a letter from Credit Partnership about recovering my money from that organization. Is there other steps I should take as well as the ones aforementioned in the posts?

Monitor your bank accounts and credit report very closely. It might happen that the company will try to do some fraudulent activities in your personal checking accounts. Being proactive is the best way to tackle with this situation.

Apart from that, you also need to file your complaints with the concerned authorities like the FTC, BBB and the state attorney general office. They must have received large number of complaints by now and might be in the process of taking legal actions against Credit Partnership. Hope there is a fair chance of some restitution.

I too received a letter on Jan 5 dated, Dec 30, post marked Jan 4, from Credit Partnership stating that they were closing. Even though they did pay three of my smaller debts over the course of 3 years, my biggest one for over $2K was not paid (as I asked in May of 05') because Mr. Troy Hall, who owned Credit Partnership, advised my debt counselor that they would not settle for a 90% payoff; which is what my creditor at the time was requesting. Credit Partnership closed their doors taking $3K of my money with them.

The letter received from them does state to contact the CA State Bar, however, after looking up how to do this on the CA State Bar website; it's not easy task. You must first file a complaint with the Bar and then, IF it's approved (which could take up to a year) then you need to file for a refund through their Client Security Fund. Even so, the burden of proof is upon you. You must have proof that you were defrauded and that you are owed money.

Thank you, however, for the other suggestions to contact the AG and BBB, and filing a police report. If we all stick together and fight this one, something is bound to happen in our favor!

Here's the address to the Riverside Co. District Attorney's Office. The last address I have for Credit Partnership is in Murrieta, right down the street from the DA's office. I am also calling the San Diego county DA tomorrow, to see what action can be taken. I figure just from the people here, they took well over 20k. Let's all come together and get our money back. This is rediculous.

The saga continues...be sure to check with the CC's that you still have outstanding debts with! I called one of my CC companies to get a balance because I was going to switch to another debt consolidator to take care of my remaining debts. Turns out, one of the companies, "Investment Retrievers" was NEVER contacted by Credit Partnership and was in the middle, and I mean when I called they were in a meeting, to sue me. I had to do some quick financial plotting and now I have to pay $1500 on the 10th of Feb and 2 monthly payments thereafter. Also, another debt collection agency that had been listed on my Credit Partnership balance sheet had stopped representing the original credit card I had a balance with. And had done so almost three years ago! Does someone think a class action suit may be in order here?

Class action? You bet! Whatever it takes at this point. One estimate is that Credit Partnership, AKA, Troy A. Hall, Esq., took over 20K just from the info so far posted on this site. I can only imagine the number of other people who have not even found this site yet. The other victims who are searching to find resolution to this blatent act of fraud and theft committed by Credit Partnership. They should not be able to get away with just because they "closed" their doors. I mean, the man is licensed through the CA Bar Assoc. (or so it still shows on the Bar website). How can he just walk away leaving all of his paid customers to fend for themselves and not take any sort of responsibility for it?

BTW, I just called the DA's office in Murrieta and they told me that I had to file a criminal complaint with the police first. They will not pursue action until they receive the complaint from the police. I'm getting ready to call the police now. Anyone know a good attorney?

Just spoke with the Murrieta police and I was referred to the "licensing" department. The lady was very nice, but she had no record of a Credit Partnership ever having a license in Riverside county. She referred me back to the police to file a criminal complaint, which I have not done yet.

I did find that Troy A. Hall used to have a practice with a Mr. Kodam. Here is their info:

Hall & Kodam (now Kodam and Assoc.)
41743 Enterprise Cir N
Temecula, CA 92590 - 5645
(951) 296-2336

I called this number and the receptionist explained, in a very dark tone, that Mr. Hall no longer practiced there. However, I find it interesting that the address for this firm is the same one that is posted on the CA Bar website for Credit Partnership.

I'd be interested to find out just how long ago Mr. Troy A. Hall, Esq. stopped practicing at this firm. Very curious, indeed.

lvlyhawaiiangrl, have your filed your complaint against Credit Partnership with the state bar council and the local police. You must also send a copy of your complaint to the local AG's office.

After you have filed all these official complaints with the concerned authorities, forward the copies to your creditors. They might stop calling you understanding the situation.

Although it is important to file a complaint with the police, Credit Partnership supposedly practiced in Riverside county. I'm in San Diego county and filing in person in Murrieta is not an easy task.

FYI. I did receive a letter back from the BBB stating that they tried to resolve my complaint with Credit Partnership but too were ignored (no doubt, THEY'RE CLOSED!). However, the BBB stated that they would keep my complaint on file for three years and anyone inquiring about Credit Partnership would be notified of such complaint.

Anyone ever see the Turko Files on KUSI News? Perhaps we should contact him too.

Also, I sent off (UPS overnight) my complaint letter today to the State Bar of CA. I should hear something back from them within 2 to 3 weeks on whether or not they will accept my complaint. If they do, then I can file for a refund through their Client Security Fund (although this is also not guaranteed and I have to prove once again that I was defrauded). But the more of us who file complaints with the State Bar of CA, the better shot we have at a positive outcome. Here a the link to the complaint form. http://www.calbar.ca.gov/calbar/pdfs/DispComp.pdf

I too, like all of you have been taking for a ride by Credit Partnership. They have over $5,000 of my money which would have easily paid off one of my 2 debts left on there but the would not settle for the 90% my credit card wanted as payoff. Now I am being sued by that creditor plus $1,000 for the legal fees the added on. I have been trying for the last 9 months to get a straight answer from Credit Part. what it would take to settle all of this in order to close my account with them. Obviously, they were just interested in getting my monthly payment and not concerned with actually settling my accounts. I have been trying to get out for 8 months. Now I'm out of all my money.

I know they had an office in El Cajon, CA at some point. I think it was a remote office. I dropped off a payment their before. They used a 3Com phone system whick would allow any person within the company to work from any location with a high speed internet connection. It's sad too that all info was hosted by their servers, which are now offline!!!

I think a class action is in order. Think about the amount of $$$ we're dealing with here. Probabl average of $2500 per client. When I looked him up on the CA State Bar, it gives a Temecula address. I drove by there today, and the place was empty. I know how place to a lien on his house, and place liens on everything else he owns, but I'd rather get it the easy way.

lvlyhawaiiangrl, did you actually receive a letter from the State Bar after filing your complaint? Or is this the letter you received from Credit Partnership advising you to contact the State Bar?

On the State Bar website, they do have a number that you can call, but they advise that you file a complaint fist, before you request a refund. Is this what you did?

Just trying to get a better picture of what you did so far.

Also, I'm with Ryno, I say we sue! I'm sure with a little time and effort, we can find this crook and get him into court before he skips the country (if he hasn't already).

How can a crook like this obtain a business license? How can he be licensed to practice with the State Bar? Someone must know him, and know where he is.

BTW, I received a complaint form in the mail from the DA's office of Riverside County. I'm filling it out and sending it back today. Also, the lady I spoke with advised that all of you contact them as well and file a complaint with them. Their number I called is: 951/955-5491 The form you need to request is a "Special Prosecution Section Complaint Form". Now I'm not sure what the DA can do, but at least the ball is rolling with them, , the State Bar, the FTC, and the BBB (all of the other places I've filed a complaint).

FYI, has anyone recently looked up Credit Partnership on the BBB website? It's not pretty.

Hi All,

I'm new to this site and found it by doing a search for Creadit Partnerships. I've read through all the threads, but could someone please summarize the steps that should be taken to try and get our money back. Both my wife and my mom are in the same situation as most of you here. And it looks like i'll be helping both of them with trying to resolve this situation.

I know my mom has received that letter from the State, but not my wife. If anyone could please list out the suggested steps to take, we would greatly appreciate it. From what I gathered so far, we should:

1. File a complaint with the local Police Dept

2. Contact out local DA office (we're in the Bay Area) Or do we contact the DA office of the company's location.

3. Contact all CCs involved with Cred. Partnership to make sure:
a) They've been paid or contacted by Cred Part.
b) and/or explain the situation with Cred Part.

4) File a complaint with:
a) The State Attorney's General Office
b) The BBB

5) Anything else?

Thanks for the information everyone has provided so far. It is a great relief to know there is forum like this to help folks out.

Mr. Kodam has a website, but has gotten Troy Hall's name off of it. However....on hallkodamlaw.com they have Mr. Kodam practicing bankruptcys in southern california. Sounds funny that Hr. Hall would reduce debt, and them maybe refer you to Mr. Kodam to go Bankrupt? Anybody know a good class action lawyer in CA? The more I dig, the better this gets.

PS-on the BBB website, they have complaints going back to 2003.

Ryno, thanks for the number. I actually called it and got a machine with a woman's voice and a child (presumable their's) but it didn't identify "the Hall residence". I didn't leave a message though, not exactly sure what to say, "hey you so and so, I'm going to sue you!", not exactly. So I'll wait for the State Bar to contact me and see where I go from there. I also just filled out the complaint form that I received from the Riverside DA's office and am getting ready to UPS that this afternoon.

To SamS. I feel your pain and for what it's worth the best thing for you to do is contact the Murrieta police and file a complaint, first and farmost. Then go onto the State Bar of CA website and file a complaint (you can't request a refund until your complaint is approved). File a complaint with the FTC and the BBB as well. And, unfortunately, you cannot file a complaint with the Atty General's office until you do file a report with the police.

Good luck to you and be sure to check this site regularly. I'm finding all sorts of information and indirect support to help keep me energized for the long road ahead.

I found the number by chance. Thought it would be amusing to post it. I wish to do no harm to a wife and child, only get back what I am due.

I'll post back when I get a letter back from the State Bar. I mailed all my stuff off this morning. We'll see what happens.

Hey Guys:

I am going through the same thing. I was a client and started trying to contact them when I noticed that they did not take a payment for December. I was able to track down one of the attorney's that worked with them and was informed that as of December 5, 2005 their office closed and that all client funds were gone. I have been advised to contact the California State Bar and file a complaint. Also, before you file a police report, you have to track down the jurisdiction, which is the place in which the actual crime occurred. I am still trying to find that out. In the mean time, I have been getting together all of my banking information because the State Bar wants evidence of all payments received by them. You also will need a copy of their Retainer Agreement.

What's funny, when I first signed up with them they claimed to have a good rating with the BBB, but when I went back to check on them after their website was deactivated I found that they actually have a rating of F.

I have invested a little money and actually have contact information for every person whose name I knew. If anyone would like it, you can e-mail me at ..... So any way, I do feel a little better to know that I was not the only one who was taken for a ride by these idiots. I really hope that Troy Hall pays for this.

email address removed as per forum rules - Vikas

More and more are coming, this is good. Does anyone know the time it takes the state bar to approve a claim? I'm happy to see more people coming on here. I owuld think when the State Bar's office gets flooded with complaints, Mr. Hall would be suspended from law practice in the state.

Susbpended yes, if he hasn't already been and the Bar website just hasn't updated their info yet. Not to mention the flood of complaints the BBB, the FTC, and the DA's office has got to be getting.

I mean, something of the legal nature is bound to happen to Mr. Hall (unless of course he's already sitting on a sun drenched beach, sipping fruity ice cocktails served by some woman named Lola).

If anyone hears back from the State Bar regarding their complaint, could you please post some info on this site what it is they told you they would do, or what else you need to do, or what's going to happen, etc.? I'm paitently awaiting my reply.

Did anyone else get a letter from Credit Partnership dated 12/30/05? Who sent this out because when I spoke to Daniel Kodam, Esq. he said they closed their doors on 12/5/05. Also, should we also be filing complaints with the State Bar on this guy, I don't know about any of you, but he also signed my Retainer Agreement and should have known what was happening to our money. Let me know if anyone of you have also filed complaints for this guy, are we just supposed to take his word that he was not involved in this?

My agreement with Credit Partnership was only signed by Troy Hall, not Dan Kodam. However, the address for Kodam and Assoc. is the same as the one listed at the BBB and the State Licensing Dept. for Credit Partnership. Obviously they were in practice together prior to forming this Credit Partnership, but once it was up and running, Hall dropped from "Hall and Kodam" and went solo. Or Dan Kodam would like us to believe. I say if Dan Kodam also signed your Agreement with Credit Partnership, I would file a complaint against him too. After all, he's still in business and perhaps is trying to hide the fact that he was involved with Troy. Definitely something is fishy though. It's just a matter of time until it's all revealed.

BTW, I got a postcard back from the State Bar of CA stating that they have received my complaint and that they will contact me when the evaluation of my complaint is complete. So I'm in limbo now. I can't file for a refund with the Client Security Fund until my complaint is approved.

It's a good thing they are flooded with complaints. This means that none of us are fighting alone, and that they realize the validity and seriousness of this matter. I certainly do hope that they take this to a higher power as well and go after this guy (these guys).

I filed a claim witht he California State Bar. And the Riverside District Attorney. I have recently filed a claim with Client Securitied Fund through the State Bar. I was told by the investigator at the State Bar that this was not going to be a quick process. Also I have already placed a stop pay on the automatice withrawl from my account, but since they already have my banking information, if they open up shop under a different name, they can still withdraw your money. So you have to watch your bank account like everyday....

Unbelievable! The site sure is up and running, and you had better believe that I printed everything off; including all the emails from Tricia stating that they would not settle my final account for less than 90%. It's all here, in black and white. What the heck is going on? Is he back in business or not? Is he being forced to pay these debts or not? Is he even in trouble?

Speaking of trouble. Thank goodness, I did manage to print off an email from Tricia stating that I, in fact, did speak with Dan Kodam directly back in May of 05' and he advised me to not settle my final debt until either the statute ran out, or, until my last creditor would be willing to settle for pennies on the dollar; and after a year or so, they probably would.

What the heck kind of BS are they pulling here? Has anyone tried calling the phone number to see if it too is up and running? Dan Kodam is an involved attorney in this whole mess. Why is he still able to practice?

Well, I just called all six numbers that I had for them and they are all still disconnected. But man am I glad I checked back in today, hindsight is 20/20, I kept kicking myself for not having printed all that information off of their site before hand, like when they hadn't taken my 2nd payment for December. Don't you know I read that first post about their web page being up and printed every thing, and I mean everything, so that I will have it if the State Bar needs it.

I must be another one. I am in for appx 7K, tomorrow I will start getting all the forms in order and send them out. I have been with them since Jan 2002, they settled 4 out of 5 debts ( I will verify for sure ) and the last one is with Citicorp which started out to be 6K and I found out from a credit report today that they want 18K now!!! That is what brought me here. I had a phone conversation with Troy Hall appx 6 months ago and he said that Citi would not settle for less than 15K so the best course of action was to file a claim after the "statute of limitations" had passed. That is the highlight of my situation.

Hints for the web site, you can "copy" each page and "paste" it on to a Word Document. Then you can print it when you need it, even if the site goes down again.

Man this SUCKS!!!

I work in communications in San Diego and have a customer of mine that is a corporate attorney, I will let you know if anything important happens.

Ryno, Susie & all, I am with you!!!
