I am getting automated calls to my cell phone from two different companies. I know one of them is from an emergency room visit my husband had a few months ago. I already have a DV letter heading to them. I have no idea what the other one is for.
I have tried waiting for them to get on the phone, but after having to go through multiple menus, it then gives me a phone # to call and a "case" number. No company name. I have no need to call these people, but I am getting sick of the automated calls. They have called me up to 3x a day.
Are these automated "This call is intended only for Jane Doe. If you aren't Jane Doe, please hang up." even legal? What if I am not Jane Doe? How do I get them to stop calling when they don't identify themselves? I haven't gone through all the menu's recently, but I am sure they will be calling again, so I can always do it next time if I need to.
I make it a point not to talk to DCs over the phone, so I would prefer to address this without calling them. If I have to in order to get the phone #, then I will.
I appreciate your help.

To the anonymous poster:

I sent a DV to the hospital collections to make sure they are the ones who SHOULD be collecting on it. The last thing I want to do is pay someone and find out it was the wrong person. That's called protecting my money.

It's the other group calling me without any information that has me frustrated.

Thank you Paul!
