The accounts are now listed as Bank of America & Citibank (through mergers). They are in the process of being settled and were in debt mgmt. program. They appear on both my daughters' credit reports, thus affecting their credit scores.
How can I get them off so they're not penalized for my credit problems??
call the number on the back of the card. Takes 2 minutes.

Did that and they said balance would have to be paid in full. I am settling these accounts and want to know what to write to the credit bureaus to get them off my daughter's account. Credit card companies were not very helpful. Am trying to clean up their credit reports along with mine.

I have had recent success in removing "autorized users" by having the "co-maker" write a letter to the bureaus stating they were only authorized and not the guarantor. "So I am not resposible for their mistakes". If the credit card company responds to them, send a letter of validation. The co-maker usually "never" signs anything. Good luck, as this has worked for me in (09).

Dispute it on your credt report, explain your daughters were only authorized users and are NOT responsible for payment of any kind.

Thanks Shazzers & Z-Man. I will get right on this as I don't want my daughters to pay for my mistakes. I put them on when they were in their early twenties in case they had an emergency while traveling. and then forgot about it until we pulled the credit reports.
