Am not working and have missed a couple of payments. Rate already at close to 30% and the minimum payment they want is over $700. No way I would be able or willing to pay either rate or minimum. Is it worth writing to state my case?

We have a hardship program with one of our citibank accts and will be trying to get one with our other acct.

They lowered our rate to 13% and our payment is $150/month on a 7,000 balance. We had to close the acct out too. I don't think we were very late, probably not even 30 days, can't remember. I wish I would have pushed for a lower rate but it is better than what we did have.

They just offered me 0%, that's right ZERO for 5 years, and claimed at the end of the 5 yrs they'd wipe the existing balance of 1,200.00 Funny when I was never late and asked for a rate better than 29.99 they said No because the economy is too bad...Miss some payments and they offer this? It's true greed if you ask me...Maggie22

I'm at around 95-105 according to their numbers. The guy I spoke to from citi at one point started saying you wouldn't believe the settlement offers and mentioned they go as low as 35%, he said people were just set in sticking it to citibank. I wasn't offered that, he just mentioned it. I responded, So what are you saying that people have the money and just prefer no to pay, I said I highly doubt that to be the case and that it's more due to the economy...He said No, some people admit they can pay but just decided not to, He said, I'm not saying thats you but other people are doing that...The offer he made was zero interest 248 month for 5 years total 14880 and the balance of 1200 at that point would be forgiven...I'm sure I'd get a 1099 for that too...My situation is the economy, people stopped paying me, new clients stopped coming in because their broke, and now I'm just finally tapped out...

i dont believe that, most people want to pay who really wants to be recieving harrassing calls and such just to not pay. im sure there are a few but i feel most people are good and are just having hard times and citi is trying to get the most they can without taking people to court. because trust me they are agressive they took me to court for a very small amount and frankly at 5 years your statute of limitations are more likely expired (check your states laws) and they cant take you to court after that time but if you continue to pay from now till then then it keeps it open, so unless you get that in righting i wouldnt trust that. are you considering this deal with them?

I agree that I doubt just have the money and don't want to pay and want to stick it to citi. Maybe citi wants to stick it to people. I have been a cardholder with them for 18 years with an extremely good on time record. I just missed my payment by 2 days and they increased my apr to 30% and won't lower it.

thats classic for citi. i hate them and will never use them again thier greed has overtaken customer service and empathy. It doesnt matter if you have been a customer for 18 years with a perfect record verses the guy who just took out a card three months ago and gave them a hosin. they hope you default. thats were they make thier money an all thier rediculas fees
