Threatening calls from Strange Man
Date: Sun, 12/06/2009 - 19:32
He told me that I had taken out a loan and owed $898.36 to Payday2Go but he could help me out and keep my case file from going to court which would result in me having a warrant issued for my arrest if I would fax him a payment authorization form to 206-337-7361 with my debit card number and payment arrangement stated in the fax. He then told me I could Western Union future payments.
I Googled the name of Payday2Go to get a number to call and verify that I DID NOT take out a loan with them and saw numerous hits from people with similar stories receiving calls from guys with different names calling from different numbers.
A few days later, I then got a call from an "Office James Anderson" (also a strong Indian accent) from the Federal Crime Division, with a similar story but a different loan company (either cashatonce.com or casdadavanced.com) looking for $500.00 from me to stop the same type of lawsuit and arrest. The callback number he gave me was 732-686-7910 or his supervisor Sam Nelson at 732-686-7912 with a fax number of 801-843-5658 to send the same type of payment authorization form to stop the lawsuit and arrest. Then his supervisor Sam Nelson got on the phone and told me I could send a payment through MoneyGram with this information:
Use a red color form

Name: Tracey Taylor

Has anyone gotten calls from any of these people from any of these numbers?

Do not, under any circumstances, send them a dime. Moneygram or any other way. They are an illegal collection agency. And the loan companies are probably illegal in your state, too. I see a whole boatload of FDCPA violations in what you've posted above. If this wound up in court (it won't), they'd be paying you, and grateful to be doing it. Just hang up on them when they call. Eventually they'll lose interest, and go back to pulling the wings off of flies.
Meanwhile... What state do you live in? Who'd you take your loan from, how much did you borrow, and how much have you paid back? We might as well check to see where you stand, legally.

Thanks so much for your reply. I am in the state of Pennsylvania. Sonic Cash is one and I have an arrangement with them directly already, borrowed $200 and right now with the fees only owe $116. And that's the thing. . . they've given me documents, these callers refuse to give me anything in writing. The Payday2Go place the one guy mentioned, I found out is not even a lender, but a matching service. I can't find any information on the other place, the other guy mentioned.

Evenin' Tracey -
That matching service (broker) is why you've got Hadji calling you from so many different places. Those outfits spread your personal info all over the place, so everybody thinks they can get in your wallet.
You said Sonic Cash is one. Do you have more loans than that outstanding? Just ones that actually funded the loan. Not some outfit you filled out an app with, and got turned down. For each loan, I need to know if it was an online lender or a storefront, how much you borrowed, and how much you've paid back.
Hang tight. I'll go see what I can dig up on PA law.

Yes, PDL Ventures (online lender), which funded a $300 loan, which the arrangement they have made with me is a total of $465 with fees to pay back monthly. So far I've made two payments to them.

Also, I did file complaints with the FBI snd the FTC and received confimring emails from them that the received my complaints. I was just scared to hear all of that threatening when I got those calls. Seeing all of the hits out here has made me feel a little better.

Tracey, I'm sorry, but I haven't found what I was looking for. I gotta get some sleep for work in the AM, but I've hollered at another moderator to have a look at this thread. She's better with PDLs than I am.
Meanwhile, start reading through this thread. I've got a feeling it's going to apply to you.

Unclewulf, thank you again for the info you have provided, it's eased my mind. I have to get some sleep too but will read the thread you've attached and check back here tomorrow. Good Night and thanks again!

i have been getting similar calls on and off for about a year. i am pretty sure someone got the information when i used to apply for loans. i know i do not owe any lenders anything.
the best way to deal with the calls is to get them off the phone asap and to avoid the calls, if possible. they will get bored with you and move on.

I'm glad you filed complaints. Don't subject yourself to the threats, as said above, the less you talk to them, the sooner they will stop calling you.

These scammers are also getting people's information from craigs list so be careful what you post period. We have a girl here at work who has never had a PDL and she is getting calls after she posted some info about a house for rent that she was interested in.

Thanks to everyone who gave advice. . . I got a call today when I got to work and I immeidately put the guy on hold for a couple of minutes. WHen I came back on the line, I informed him that I was recording the call then proceeded to tell him about the complaints I filed because I knew he was running a scam, for him to C&D calling me at work , home, etc. I wouldn't let him get a word in. . . I think we hung up on each other at the same time. . . he didn't call back. So maybe they'll leave me alone for awhile. Thanks again.

They will not provide me with any information except that i have federal charges pending and i need to pay them right away. They want either my bank account information or for me to go to western union. I have filed a complaint already i wish i knew what else to do.Quote:
