wait until then.at that time they might be more receptive then.i do know some cc's won't budge until 90 to 120 anyhow.just keep the communications going and make the offer around jan.i bet they will see things differently.

Aubrey, they settled with me at 35% at 120 days.. but it took some talking . they would do 40% no problem, now on to B of A for me, and its been tough. One internal collections guy was a real prize.I complained to his manager as he was a real harrassing A-hole, so far no more calls from him..

DanaDe, I settled with BofA on a $11,000+ balance. They were very gracious. Then again, I've been their customer since 1994 (when they were MBNA).

Why are you here if your life is so perfect? You have no clue as to what people on here have experienced: job loss, disability, medical issues with family members. Also, credit card companies jacking up interest rate to 30% because (boo hoo) the federal government is going to put restraints on them come 2/10. Know what 30% does to a $10,000 balance when the original interest rate was 6%? You do the math.
Walk in someone elses' shoes before you criticize, accuse and abuse.

Yeah..... they jacked up my interest rate because I had a late payment on my CELL PHONE BILL! It's called Universal Default....The higher interest rate put my account over the limit, so then they charge over-the-limit fees.
Right now my family comes first. and I can sleep soundly at night - no problem.

we will all be ok, it is just SOO stressing and emitonal at times. But it has been a real education.I was brought up to pay bills on time, like most of us.Grammy said, you barrow you pay.But you know times have changed so much.
Aubrey what % did you settle? B of A wont budge so far for 40% and I cant do it in 4 months. But tomarrow the account goes 120 days so like I said maybe the other rep I spoke with last nite really did see some good on teh screen sh ewas looking at.She said it would be 2 days to update and I would get a call.. heres hoping!
BofA
I settled at about 33%. Had a balance of $14,000+ and settled for $4,600. $400 for November and December. $1,900 for January and February and then bye-bye.
Am taking out pension loan for part of January and the Feb. payment. HSBC will be paid off Feb. and that will free up $318 per month.
