Need help to start

alright im 22 years old. i had a credit card and racked up a $4,000 debt. creditors started calling me a year and a half ago and recently i got "tricked" into settling with redline. after one payment of 150, i researched the company and change my account so they couldnt withdraw from my account. i now have a stable job and able to make small payments or be able to start saving so i can pay in full. im still new to this so i dont even know where to start. who should i call or what should i do? its been 2 years since i settled/closed my account. any help would be appreciate. thank you

You need to find out who holds the account currently. Get a copy of all 3 of your credit reports and see who is on it for this account.

I called first USA. They said they sold my debt to red line and

If first USA is not the original creditor, if they are a debt collector and do not own your account anymore then dispute it with your credit report. It should be removed if they do not own it.

OK, what state do you live in and when was the last time a payment was made?

You should send a debt validation letter to redline, certified mail return receipt.
