My PDL update
Date: Wed, 12/16/2009 - 16:50
MyCashNow a.k.a Credit Protection Depot has emailed me twice, threatening with collection activity, legal action, threatening to report me to Teletrak, etc. I faxed them my rebuttals and requests for validation and legal status to which I get no reply. (Faxed over another one this evening.)
USFastCash has emailed me 2 or 3 times asking me to keep my lending options open and whip out my debit card to make a payment. I faxed over my neverchanging response and call it a day.
LRA, collector for Summit Group (I thought it was Debt Management Partners from the email they sent me, but whatever), emailed me and called me a few times at my job (when I was still there) and at my home a few times. I faxed and mailed (certified) a validation letter. I haven't received any more calls and the green card came back signed. Nothing from them to date.
Only God knows what 1000CashOvernight a.k.a. International Payment Services is up to these days, since I no longer have a job they can try to attach wages to. I've received no calls at home...dare I say yet.
I've heard nothing from Ameriloan, 500FastCash, nor Kenwood Services. I did get letters from a few state attorney generals' offices telling me they would look into the matter and it would take 30 days. I'm not holding my breath on them doing anything, but the more complaints they get, the sooner these criminals will be out of business.
If only they would accept MY terms, so I could pay what I borrowed and be done with it. Now I'll have to only hope I don't run into a disgruntled former PDL owner in a deserted parking lot some day, or when I'm ready to buy a house or some other major purchase, some sleazy debt collector representing some PDL will pop up on my report. How I wish I could go back and do things differently.
And how is everyone enjoying their holidays?
Hang on there, I have the feeling that things would only go bett

Gotta love the resending emails tactic, don't ya just love bogging up their inboxes? I know I did. Keep your chin up Icon, there are brighter days ahead!

Glad to see that things are looking up. :) I'm curious how your ordeal with International Payment Services went... if they are the same company that I have one through, they are located in a non-US country (can't remember the name off hand) and it even says so in the contract. I will have to deal with them soon.

So far, I've heard nothing more from International Payment Services other than their attempted wage assignment. I've had no calls to my home nor any email or snail mail correspondence. I'm anticipating a call from whomever their collection agency is. I know they are in a non-US country, and they feel that the payday lending laws of each state don't apply to internet lenders.
Thanks for the info, Icon. I'll be defaulting with them tomorrow
Thanks for the info, Icon. I'll be defaulting with them tomorrow... just closed my bank account today.
