Ok, I am a bit confused on the response I receiveed from the BBB on PDL Ventures. Wouldnt you think receiving too many complaints would make them want to go after them not stop. See below:

Business Name: PDL Ventures

The BBB is no longer processing complaints against this company due to volume of complaints we receive against this company, and the company’s history of not responding . We appreciate your effort in bringing this to our attention. Information from the public is always valuable to us. Your experience will become a part of the BBB's reliability report, and a copy will be forwarded to the business for their information. Should we receive a response, it will be forwarded to you. Otherwise the status of an unanswered complaint will be reflected within the company's report.

The Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern Washington, North Idaho and Montana develops and maintains reliability reports on companies in our service area. This information is available to the public and is frequently used by potential customers.

Remember to check with the Better Business Bureau before entering into a marketplace transaction. You can view reliability reports nationally by visiting the following Web Site:

Here is another one. Any thoughts on how I should respond to them. I over paid this one by $600 so I want a PIF... they are making me sick.

I respect a consumer who researches the services to which he/she uses. With that being said when you applied for and agreed to the terms of the loan it would have behooved you to read the complete contract you were agreeing to. You are a citizen of the state of California; however the contract was not made in the state of California. The contract was completed via the World Wide Web; the governing law (clearly outlined in your contract) which you agreed to by your legal e-signature is based in the isle and providence of Nevis West Indies Bahamas.

With all the information at hand I am still willing to work out arrangements for the balance that is still owed on your account. You may contact our offices 8am-5pm CST Monday-Friday. Our toll free phone # is 1-866-321-6114 option 4. You must contact our Collections Department as soon as possible. If no contact is made within a reasonable time the account will be sent to a third party collection agency.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to call or email.

please advise if you need a copy of your contract, this will outline the terms and conditions of your loan.

Thank you,

At this point I would ignore them. There's nothing they can do to you; they are illegal. Don't let them upset you. US Fast Cash sent several e-mails a week for several months. I simply responded with my original letter; no more, no less. Finally about 3 weeks ago they stopped. Haven't heard from them.

I kind of agree with Aubrey, I would send them a few more letters demanding a refund for what you over-paid but I would not give them too much attention.. I know it is wrong and I know they should not be allowed to operate illegally but sometimes peace of mind is better than a PIF letter.

I just got another settlement offer from another company, they are going with the amount barrowed minus the 1 fee. Thats what I asked for. YEAHHH . but heres my issue they want the money order by 1/21/10, I can not do this. I can do 2/5/10. I have 30 days to respond. Should I ask if they can wait till then? I have 2 settlements I am paying now and I can not do these all now, its impossible. If they will I will only have 2 left to pay and 2 left to fight for PIF's. And 3 settled. There is a light at the end.

Well, it doesn't matter what THEY want, you are calling the shots here, not them. They are operating illegally in your state and they know this. Just remind them of that. Also make sure they are aware that you will pay them when you are able, and you will only pay them what they are legally entitled to receive, tell them there is NO negotiating on their part. The end.

I am in agreement with everyone here. These bottomfeeders will take 2/10, since they will do anything for money. They might tell you they can't wait, but trust me, they will. Stand firm and do it on your terms.
Also, send everything to the AG's office. That letter the other place sent you is a joke--it sounds like all of these companies use the same template! And what's going to happen if you don't pay those outrageous fees: are they going to fly over from the Bahamas and arrest you? I think not!

YEA Jasgal I am super excited for you!!!! I know the feeling of finally seeing the light! I heard a quote once that I think applies to a lot of us on this site and it's that the light at the end of the tunnel is the caboose and we have already been run over and survived!

Enjoy your holidays!!!!! This will all wait until Monday (or later -- like after the first) I am sure none of these people are losing sleep over what they do so.....

In response to Jasgal's confusion about PDL Ventures and how the BBB handled Jasgal's complaint, the letter states that the complaint went unanswered, and thus, would not continue in a complaint process (towards a resolve, due to the company's pattern of not responding to BBB complaints.

This does not mean the BBB tossed out your complaint, Jasgal. It was initially processed, but given the timeframe for processing complaints, the company did not respond. The complaint that Jasgal submitted to BBB is counted as an unanswered complaint #along with many others#, and the company already has an F rating. We can never force a company to respond to a complaint, and don't have that power.

BBBs also can't shut down an operation. We can AID with hope that a group with a horrible track record will be held accountable, but we are NOT an enforcement agency. What we do that is helpful is: 1# we maintain reports on risky groups such as this one and empower people with info that we HOPE they read PRIOR to agreeing to a service, 2) we issue alerts/warnings on a group such as this with a track record like this, and 3) we share our complaints with outside agencies that DO have enforcement power, in which case, if we are subpoened for our records by a regulatory agency, we are required to give that info over. That info includes the complaints that we have received #whether fully processed or not). Our BBB works regularly with outside agencies to share info, bring trouble groups to their attention #and vice versa), and work in concert sometimes with alerts/warnings.
So, don't think we are slacking on this group. We are confused, mostly, by the "order of command" and how this particular company conducts business (we can't know everything), and we work with what we can make sense of coupled with what is the most objective, sound way to inform potential customers about such groups.

If you go online, you will see that there have been a number of media reporter pieces written about this group, and BBB is prominently reflected as a group that is doing the best it can to help educate and inform with what we know at the time.

We hope that you will continue to utilize BBB and if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask the BBB staffer handling your complaint for any further explanations. Thanks so much--Zan Deery, Communications/Investigations
