Well, just made our second settlement. We'd received a call from Elan a few weeks ago. The rep was very nice and suggested we made an offer. He said he'd seem some nice offers going though and indicated for our balance of 12K they'd probably accept 3,000 which is 25%, payable in 3 payments of 1,000...Settled....2 Down 6 more to go...

Settled

Chase day 70 @ 29% lump sum, Bal $9300 account had been sent to local law firm

Elan settled around day 100ish 25%, 3 payments of 1K Balance 12K

Unresolved

Amex @ zwicker

Citi Att Universal offered 55%, Declined my 35% on $3,445.00 at 120ish...

Citi 2 No offers bal $16K at 120 days

Hsbc 60 days late, no offers bal $3000

chase 1 no offers pd120 bal $4500

chase 2 no offers pd120 Bal $12k+

I'd keep my fingers crossed for you.

Amex and Citi are generally tougher than other creditors to deal with and HSBC too falls into the same category but I wouldn't lose hope so early. May be with little more time they would come to more agreeable terms. Keep your hopes alive.

id be a little conserned with the chase at the local law firm it would be my first priority scince alot of times these are the ones that file judgements. but i have to agree that citi was very very tough for me and sued me. but hang in there like sc stated its still very early. but your doing a great job thus far!
