I got a call from Creditors Interchange in Nov, telling me that if I didn't pay $1900 in a week, I would be served papers and go to jail. I was scared and panicked, gave them too much information, but stopped payment to the check before it was supposed to go through. They put it through anyway and my check bounced. I've called my bank and straightened it out on their end, but now I'm getting threatening calls at home and work, during evening hours and on weekends.

The CA wants me to call him today or else, he told me last night at work (after four calls in a row. Yikes!). I can't receive calls at work or I'll get fired! What should I do?

Is this the company? By law they can call between 8am and 9pm.....some states limit calls to 2 per week such as Massachusetts. You can also send in writing that no calls are to be made to your work.

Creditors Interchange

You cannot be arrested. Next time they call ask them if they know what the definition of extortion is. Then tell them you are calling your lawyer and will sue them if they keep calling. Then do not talk to them ever again. If that is their address, send them a debt validation letter.

How do I go about reporting them? I live in PA, so I'm not sure what the laws are in this state. I'm not sure how to stop them from calling me at work. I have already sent certified letters of DV and Cease and Desist. I haven't gotten anything in reply as of yet.

You should also file a complaint with the FTC (link in my signature). To locate your attorney general's office just google the name of your state in front of the words "attorney general", this should help you locate their website and you will probably be able to file a complaint online. When filing complaints it's very important you provide as many details as possible.
