I had a payday advance issue and I tried settling with them a while back but they refused and said I owed like 500.00 for a 200.00 loan. Anyway, now all of a sudden I get a voicemail today from a Mr. Cook, claiming to be an attorney, stating that they were getting ready to do a "legal protest against my personal banking", and to have me or my attorney contact them immediately. They called my job and my personal phone. Please help. Thanks.

The Florida Consumer Financial Act puts an 18 pecent cap on personal loans and requires all lenders to be licensed within the state regardless of their geographical location. Wage assignments are illegal and wage garnishments cannot be used involuntarily against a head of household! Unlicensed loans are non collectable in Florida. Also Florida has collection laws that apply to original lenders that parallel the FDCPA. Go to my thread in my signature below regarding payday loans. There are a couple of Florida Lawyer Ads there!
