was a payment made at all? if not then no, but why would you go against what your settlement company just set up for you? obviously you want to settle or you wouldnt be going through a settlement company was it not a good enough offer? im unsure of why you would do that
We voided it because they settled at $10,000 for a $12,000 debt.
We voided it because they settled at $10,000 for a $12,000 debt. My husband and I agreed that a $2,000 deduction, probably wasn't the best offer we could get, and we requested our validation of debt. But no, no money was ever sent to them of any sort.
i dont understand why they would have settled at that amount. i
i dont understand why they would have settled at that amount. it doesnt make sence but no your sol does not restart
Well exactly, that's what we were thinking. But I believe it's
Well exactly, that's what we were thinking. But I believe it's because the CA moved the account to a lawyer's office, so I'm thinking they were just trying to hurry and get a settlement for us?? Other then that, we have no idea, but everyone talked to said not to make the settlement at that and to request our Validation first to see what they have actually charged as interested and fees. Does that sound correct? Or did we mess uP?
no, but your settlement co should have done that for you, can i
no, but your settlement co should have done that for you, can i ask who you are going through? you dont need to say but i hope they didnt charge you alot to go through them when they only saved you 2,000. you could have done much much better unless its anew debt were you just charged 10,000 and they havent made any money on it yet, do you know what im saying?
CNI (Century Negotiations). Actually the 12,000 is the original
CNI (Century Negotiations). Actually the 12,000 is the original debt. I am not sure where it's at currently, much higher I'm sure, but IDK the exact number.

They should do a *lot* of things, like not charge people so much for sending in a few faxes and making a few phone calls. Nearly the entire industry is a deceptive rip-off and little better than a payday loan company on the ethics scale.
They are an accredited member of TASC so that should tell you something about the quality of their "oversight". I guess following State Law isn't one of their standards, lol.

LMAO! The owner is also the Vice President and Executive Director of TASC!! LMAO! The very definition of irony!

Although the BBB has them under review. Interesting....
That would be 2 states that have sued them:

Just in case you think I'm being hard on the industry, thankfull
Just in case you think I'm being hard on the industry, thankfully the National Association of Attorneys General - writing for 41 state Attorneys General - agree with me.
