portfolio recovery is on my credit report. They wouldn't send anyting in writing so they didnt' get paid. Debt SOL is gone anyway, but was going to do the right thing. Anyway, it is supposed to come of my credit report in 2011. Can they keep it on there longer or will it definately come off? They call me almost daily, but I know all their numbers so I don't answer the phone. I just wanted to wait it out, but am afraid it will never go away even in 2011 when its supposed to. Can anyone answer this ? thanks!

I didnt know if they would send it to someone else and then it would appear again or do something to keep it on there. I mean they have been calling me on and off for about 5 years and somehow recently they found out my cell #. That was weird. I cant buy a house because of that info being on my report and I can't buy until its off or paid and I'm not paying it cuz now they have put thousands of dollars of "finance charges" on it in the past 5 years. I mean it was 7000 now its 14000. Just going to ride it out i guess.

so much for doing the right thing. if you borrow money you should pay it back. offer them a settlement. if its been with them that long then they will jump at the chance. if you do decide to do this read up on what you need them to do to ensure they dont pass the remainder of the balance to another agency (because your payment would re-age the debt).

i didnt come on here for negative comments from people. I have tried to settle with these idiots for your info, twice. They don't want to send me anything in writing and I want it in writing so they won't send the rest to someone else to collect on, thank you. I know this agency is sneaky and I don't trust anything they say so I want it on paper, plain and simple. So until I get that, they get nothing.

you are so doing the right thing.this is a bottomfeeder that doesn't like documentation of any kind.hold your ground.if they persist then fire off a FOAD letter.if they don't want to accept your terms you are under no obligation to them in any form.i do applaud your want to pay,but don't do it on there terms.

I have read the statute of limitations for FL but I do not understand. I have some old unpaid credit cards from 3-5 years back that have gone unpaid and now with the finance charges and interest are out of sight. How many years can I get hounded and tracked down for these?

If you did not give them your cell phone number on an application or call them from that number then they can not call you on it. This is a violation of the FDCPA, there have been more than a few class action lawsuits because of it.

Also, keep in mind that the term before a debt will "fall off" is 7 1/2 years from the date last reported.
