I plan on paying the final amount. Should I be afraid of them asking for more money? I've read quite a few horror stories about these two companies. What is the best thing to do? I have saved all of my MoneyGram payment receipts. Has anyone had trouble with them after paying off what was agreed?
Thank you!

My concern is that I pay them this final $300 and they still say I owe them. They tell me that if I don't pay on time, then I will owe the full balance of the loan. In a week and a half, I owe them this final $300.
Do I pay them and hope for the best?
Do I call and demand they send me something in writing? I am sure they will refuse and come back with the same story that if I don't pay, I will owe them more money.
I almost wish I hadn't started to research this company. I'm losing sleep over this. Any help is truly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Luke A

They offered you a settlement of $1300 on a $1000 loan? I hate to break it to you, but a settlement should result in you paying less than the original amount borrowed, not more. Did you make these arrangements verbally with not even an email confirmation at least?

Hopefully they don't have your account information because Payday Max has a very bad track record and based on some of the posts I read here at the forum are not to be trusted under any circumstances. If it were me, I would tell them they are now paid in full, but first I would close out my account if they have your account information because it will never be safe again as long as they have your account information. Now that I looked, the loan amount was about $1200. They told me they could keep charging me interest. I asked for a better amount several times and they wouldn't give me a better payoff.
I am looking through my emails and I guess I was stupid enough to not get anything that really applies in writing.
Should I ask for something in writing before my next payment or just pay it and hope they send me a PIF letter?

After doing research, they may not be paid in full yet. I lthink I originally owed $1200 and have paid about $1000 to date. My next payment is due in a week and a half.
Honestly, I just want to pay CPD $300 more and be done with this awful experience. I don't know if that is the best thing to do.
My bank account is closed. I will contact the bank again tomorrow just to verify it has been closed.
I am worried that they will tell me I still owe them after making this final payment. I have a feeling that if I demand a statement, they will tell me I owe them more money. Should I demand a statement? I thought everything was just fine until I started reading these posts.
A few days ago I asked the girl on the phone what I owed and she said it was $290-something. Can I trust them to close my account after this final payment?

What about CPD? Do they have any right to come after me?

Ok, this is great.
I called CPD to tell them I needed something in writing to make my last payment. So far they haven't been able to provide anything and say they can't send me anything. They sent me an email saying the amount due for my next payment, but did not say it was my final payment.
They say after I make my final payment, I can go to PayDayMax.com and log into my account and see a zero balance.
I told them I cannot make my final payment without seeing something in writing.
There is no reason that this should be difficult and therefore I think they are trying to scam me.
I appreciate the advice so far, but can someone please give me this information? Is PayDayMax and CPD legal in the state of Wisconsin?
Does anyone have any advice from me?
Thank you!

both paydaymax, and credit potection depot are not licensed at all anywhere.you only owe paydaymax the amount borrowed.nothing more.pay the principle, and don't pay the shysters anymore after that.neither paydaymax or CPD can do a thing to you.pay the original amount and nothing more.i would file FTC,and AG complaints against both parties as well.
