Gordon and Wong have had our account for almost 2 years. They made us a settlement offer but would not hear of us making payments. We made them a settlement offer in writing including payments which they ignored. When they got more threatening I sent them an unsolicited $500 check which they cashed. they then sent me a letter asking me to confirm the arrangement we agreed upon, but nothing was spelled out. I did not send them any more $$ as another financial emergency came up. It is now almost one year later. We just got a letter from them telling us they wanted to settle the matter. Any suggestions as to my next step?

Since they have sent a mail, make all the communication in writing henceforth, including the settlement proposal.
