Just got a phone call from them, I am in Massachusetts, so good thing I was at the computer when they called. I quickly looked to see if they are licensed in MA. it expired 12/09 and they haven't renewed it yet. The lady kept talking over me and I told her not to. I told her until they renew their license, DO NOT contact me at all or I will turn them over to the state where they could be fined or imprisoned.

At that point she tried to get me to admit to the debt which I did not do I didn't even answer her. I stuck with the licensing, she was pissed and I said goodbye.

How ya like them apples? I already got a letter in the mail in September from them but I really don't care at this point. I have been battleing cancer for 3 years, I have no intention or means to pay.

Also should I send a cease and desist letter stating I am disabled and that a lawsuit against me is pointless due to that fact??? I have no plans of ever returning to work, heck, I will be lucky to be alive in 3 years.

If they have contacted you but you haven't replied to their mail, either by sending validation letter or otherwise, it has confirmed the debt somehow against you. Anyway, if you're judgement proof, i.e. living on SSI, then I wouldn't have bothered about C&D either. If they sue, you can then prove the fact before the judge.

However, this is my opinion. You must wait for the other members to comment on it as well.

If you are judgment proof, meaning you have nothing that can take from you (home, bank accts, salary) and you just want them to leave you alone, then yes, send a C&D.
If you have some other goal, please let us know what it is and I can give my opinion.
I am sorry you are not well and wish you a healthy future.
