credit report impact: consolidation vs impact

I am in the position to easily handle either debt management (consolidattion) or settlement. Which will have the most negative impact on my credit rating? In the long run? In the short run?
Consolidation would certainly have lesser impact on your report.
Consolidation would certainly have lesser impact on your report. Settlement would affect your score more negatively.
