As their initial reaction, they can impose late charges on you. So, you'd need to pay more on the bill when you repay. They can also increase your interest rate.

The creditor would take steps to collect the debt when you default on the card and also can take legal action against you. If they win the lawsuit then yes, they can put lien against your property depending upon your state laws.
