Does going to charge off make a big diff?

I have about 55k in debt. 6 cards biggest 32k to BOA and 23k split to others.
My guess is BOA will go a year or 2 before I can save enough to pay them! or should I just bite the bullet and go Chap 7 or 13! I own 2 homes with about 10k equity in both, But becuase there are so many rental I must cover $300 -$400 a month to keep current

It did for me. That's when the best deals are. BOA is usually easy to settle with for about 30% or so if you get to charge off, but you need to have the $$ to settle. I did it by putting away my monthly payments and borrowing some from family and pension. But now, I'm debt free, so it was all worth it.
