I would suggest a MO; unless payment is a large $ amount then you might consider a Bank Cashier Check. However, I'm sure more experienced, knowledgeable folks will respond to you shortly.
May I ask how late you were with Chase before getting the 35% settlement offer; and did you need to work with Chase or did they just offer this % settlement? Thank you.

I was 92 days past due. They offered 70% at first on 1/4/10 during that same conversation it went to 40% then to 35%. I waited until today to accept 35% until i was sure I could get the money loaned to me. They were very easy to work with. Very nice and understanding. It really wasn't hard at all.

because they can be tracked better, you can prove when they recieved the check, and your not giving out your account number. Alot of times heard throughout the forum you give them your account number to take the money out and they take the origional amount out instead of what they are suppost to. in my case they double dipped me leaving me screwed for a long time overdrafting my checking and bouncing everything else i had out there you have to be very careful.

What do you mean by they can be tracked better? If you mail a Cashier's Check you have no idea if and when they get it and also how do you track if and when they cash it? With a personal check from your checking account you know when they cashed it and have a tracking record if any problems come up in the future. I don't get why MO or CC is better, please explain.
Now, don't give them your account number, tell them to mail you the settlement letter in writing and you will then send the money/check after you get the letter, dont give them your account number over the phone.
I owe the IRS over 6,000.00 will they settle for a lesser amount
