If these debts are that old whether you pay it in full or settle it for less, it isn't going to help your credit one way or another. I would settle for a little as possible.

You see after a couple of years if you are building new credit the bad stuff doesn't affect your score as much. So paying off a 6 year old charge off will actually lower your credit score for a while. I personally would not pay it until they sued and they may be past the statue of limitations at this point to do that. So in essence, nothing happens and it falls off your credit report after 7 years.
