is there a way to remove a report from my credit file that says paid after charge off/collections

Delly, you can’t remove the negative information from your report even if you have paid them. The negative entries would stay on your report for seven years (71/2 to be precise). You’d have to negotiate pay for delete with the collectors when you had settled the loans to get those removed. However, the paid accounts would still have a positive impact on your credit and you may see some improvement in your score in the near future.
