I got a dunning letter from a lawyer in my state stating that they have been retained by a CA to collect on a debt. I have never got anything in the mail from the CA previously, so I responded with a timely DV to the law firm CMRRR. I got the green card back and a week later I pulled my EQ report and saw that the CA was reporting on there. I dispute with EQ and it comes back verified and was marked that I dispute the info. I then pulled my TU report and saw that the CA was also on there and there was marked that I dispute that the info on there as well, even though I did not dispute with TU as yet. I have yet to receive a response to my DV from the law firm as well. According to what is on my reports, the CA is collecting on a CC CO from 2006. What should be my next step?

Which state are you in? What is the SOL for credit card debt in your state? Most likely the account is still collectible and well within the SOL.
Since the debt has been verified as valid by the credit bureau, you can assume it as legal. Your option now is to negotiate a settlement with the collection agency.
