Tried to dispute TransUnion Credit report

Did you receive a letter from Trans Union at all regarding the disutes? If not, you can also call them to find out the status of these disputes. I get a little confused at times when dealing with Trans Union.

I was going through their website few days back. I think Trans Union only prefers a prescribed format to dispute. Chances are they are using ICR. The form is available in their site and they recommend different format for different states also.

Shirley, did you use their format? Or you sent a generalized letter? Anyway, since they have sent you the form, there is no harm in disputing the entries again. Hope you get a positive result this time :D

Nope, they said nothing to me personally, just a copy of my credit report and what to do to dispute. wonder if this is going to count again my free credit report of the year. Oh well, will cross that bridge when I come to it. lol shirley

Wow, I just got a response back from Trans Union today for something I have been trying to dispute for over a year now. It had to deal with a car loan company that I used to have until I paid my car off in August. I was never too thrilled with them and they would post my payment to someone else's account. Then, I would get nasty calls at work as to why my payment was late. I went through this on several different occasions with them. I used to have to fax copies of my cancelled checks showing when the payment cleared my bank. It's good to know that hard work does pay off. A few of these showed thirty days late but the company would never admit to any mistake on their end. It's finally taken off there and I got a new copy of my TU report today. msmishele, I know you've been disputing your credit reports, if you will read my post 'disappointed with equifax report', you will see what the outcome of my husbands credit report with Equifax is.
It arrived today. My question for you, is, did you have to dispute with them several times to get your point across to them, to get what you were after, or just the one time? see, they didn't even address several things on husbands report, things that I know ARE WRONG, like two accounts that are mine and aren't joint, and an ALIAS name they have him under. I'm kinda pissed about it. On the accounts that I was trying to get investigated, they just came back and said 'our findings is that its yours'. duh, I knew this. I am getting no where and feel like a dog chasing his tail. I didn't expect to make everything magically right, I was just looking for some answers. And the obvious errors that I requested that they take off, they ignored all together. They did have two of the same accounts and they removed one, that was it. urrgghh!!!!
I don't mind a fight, and if I have to stay after them, I will, just want to find out what others have went through. This is my first time disputing credit bureaus. thanks, shirley

Also, on the joint accounts that I have with hubby---on MY credit report with Transunion, they show one thing, but on hubbys report with Equifax, the
same joint accounts, show something different. This is so frustrating. sometimes I think this whole credit bureau stuff is crap! guess I will have to wait until hubby gets his transunion one and compair it to my transunion one and see if they're consistant with each other. But what if the other two bureaus aren't. urrrrgh! shirley

Like I said in my previous post in another thread, sometimes, it is entirely upon the lenders and the collectors on how they have reported to one or all the bureaus. As you have already disputed with the bureaus, you should also place a contact with the company in writing. Maybe, they have a cause to fix up the errors so that your credit file is viewed accurately.

David, you're right and stumbling upon this community, is the best thing thats happened to me since the beginning of all my debt problems! It feels so good here, everyone trying to help each other, we all 'knowing the feeling' and being in the same boat together. THe people here are just awesome. I am so glad that I have a place to come to, to talk and share my debt troubles when I feel the world is kicking me while I'm down. It really does make a difference. And you know sometimes, someone sharing a smile or a pat on the back can really make a big difference. I try to think of it like this, that next person that comes through the door here at the forum, you don't know what they've been through/what they're going through...their life might be sooo bad that they're thinking of ending it all, thats just how doom and gloom they feel. They just can't deal with the debts, the harrassments, the phone calls etc, But someone here says something, encourages them, give them a smile and tries to lift them up a little by saying, 'hey, its not as bad as you might think'--keep plugging, it will get better for you' and gives them a little hope. See to me, this is what its all about. I'm not a mod here or anything, just a joe blow debtor, but I've learned alot and have been through alot. so sometimes I jump in and try to help--if its something I know about. I've noticed that some of the others are doing this too. This is just a great place to be!!!! hugs, shirley

i disputed all 3 credit reports. i got something in the mail from experian with good results. but transunion sent me an email saying results were in i have to log onto a site that doesnt exist. https://annualcreditreport.transunion.com/dispute. i can't bring it up or sign onto anything. i called customer service and they told me "sorry you can't get on and i don't understand why you can't" I told them it doesn't exist. so she wants me to wait 15 days then they send it to me. Wait, but first i got to send proof of where i live, which they should have from when i filled out to get my credit report. so she just went a circle with me. it was like talking to a machine. i'm really po'ed

Kim I sure know how you feel. There are several items on my report that are not accurate. They say charged off when they were paid in full. I am sending out disputes also because I have proof. Good Luck KYSIDE38

It's all bullsh!t. I been trying to get false claims removed from my report for almost 6 years, now I only have to wait a couple months. Your lucky to even get them to send you a report, let alone to review a dispute. So much for the pursuit of happiness in the modern world.
