Help fighting a payday collection company

My father got a call from some people today looking for my wife.They told my father everthing about the account even how much it was $280.Then told my father they have a court number and was going to sue my mother also.They got my mothers name some how???And some how they put her name on the account!!!!!My mother do not even bank at that bank!!!!They told my father he need to speak to there lawyers and to stay on the phone but my father told the butthole, NO!!!The next time you call here I am going to call "MY" lawyer and hung up.He does not know what the company name was or the name of the person or phone number.He just told me that I need to take of this NOW!!!!It made him very upset at me and this is going to made my mother go though the roof.This is my wife payday loan not my family and this debt is 4.5 years old!!!!I live in South Carolina.I call one state agencies today and they were no help and told me to get a lawyer.Also I need to know what are the laws on tape recording phones in my state are.I found it but I am not a lawyer and can read "lawyer talk".Is there any body I can talk too about this besides a lawyer???
