Chase Charge Off an Credit Report

If I let Chase charge off how will it report on credit report? Lets say I then settle with collection agency, will it change how Chase reports it?
Chase - settled with Chase (not CA) but they reported as "Charge
Chase - settled with Chase (not CA) but they reported as "Charged Off/Bad Debt" - settled less than full. So not sure how it will report if you let it charge off.
