payday loans in CA - internet lenders illegal?
Date: Thu, 02/11/2010 - 14:55
What information should I provide you? I started with the internet lenders back in August. I originally started with $300 with $90 in fees to zip19 but now it's $780 with $155 in fees to them. With Flash Loans its $300 with $90 in fees.
I've read some folks who actually got the fees returned back to them - basically I'm looking for advice/information on the best way to get out of this debt with the internet lenders.
thanks!

Hello,
It is my understanding that I can't really do much about the storefront loans except handle them myself or work out installments with them so I can pursue that on my own. However as for the internet ones....
Zip 19 - avg of $780 each pay period, have paid $2,230.76 in fees
Flash Loans - $300 each pay period, have paid $1260 in fees
United Cash Loans - $300 for 2 pay periods, have paid $90 in fees
VIP Loan Shop - $300 for 2 pay periods, have paid $90 in fees
I talked with a company called Your PayDAy Loan Help that offered to set something up with me where I pay $150 to open an account with them then around $100 each pay period and they handle the cease and desist with the internet PDL companies and I'd be out of this debt within six months. After reading that some folks here have been able to get fees returned to them, I'm looking for the best way to proceed. My bank says that I can put an ACH stop payment but it will cost me around $30 each one, so that's at least $120.
thanks.

Placing an ACH stop on these lenders will only be temporary, they are known to change their names and debit accounts over and over again, the only sure way to stop them is to close your account! None of your lenders are licensed! Click the link below on how to proceed:

right, the research I have done has all pointed me toward what you just said - I'd need to change my direct deposit and will talk to my company about that tomorrow. I will check out the link, thanks!

The only thing you need to do is once you have that new account in hand, be sure and NOT give out the number to anyone, no matter how hard they pressure you for it. Once you do this, you are back to square one.

Thank you - appreciate the answer. I"m going to talk with my bank about getting a new checking account set up that I won't give the number to anyone! I can't close the current one until existing debits (of the non payday loan kind) get taken care of but I'll be sure to do so next week.

I sent two Cease and Desist letters - one to zip19 and the other to Flash Loans. I put blocks on the two with my checking account which at the moment I can't close because it's negative and I have other bill payments going through. After tomorrow's payperiod I won't have direct deposit into this account anymore - routing it to a new checking account that I have opened with a new bank.
Zip 19 has blocked my access to their site - I try and log in and it says I don't have access. Flash Loans has not blocked me, I go in and it says my account is inactive with a $0 balance. I'm really concerned and freaked out that they are going to debit me anyway. Once I get paid tomorrow I can take the money out and be done with it and Bank of America is willing to help me out with getting out of the mess I am in.
ugh help!
