Portolio Recovery is handling this debt now and I am now in a position to pay the balance owed in full My credit report shows both parties and I want to make sure I get my report cleaned up as this is my only bad issue. I want the best result for my credit report so dont want to pay anything until I know the best way to get the best outcome. I was refused a credit card when I applied and thats when I got the info from my credit report Will have to get a secured credit card in the interim to build my credit score up but would pay this debt ASAP if I knew the best route to take.

Since you can pay off the entire amount you can try to negotiate
Since you can pay off the entire amount you can try to negotiate a 'pay for delete'. It would remove the negative information from your report altogether.

But do I negotiate with Wells Fargo or with Portfolio for the best result on getting the stuff off my credit report and do you recommend talking by phone or in writing and using one of the Nolo template letters
