I have a judgment against me from a repossessed car which has been paid off through wage garnishment. I'm now looking to buy a house and IMO this record is hurting my possibilities of getting a mortgage (you know how these lenders are now). I was just wondering if this item can be taken off my report anyway.

Any suggestion would help.

It can stay on your report for 7 years. Judgments are tricky to get removed. You could try to dispute it with the CRA and if it "verifies" then ask for the method of verification. There has been some speculation on just how they verify those types and I think they use a third party so that does leave you some room to complain and the CRA themselves may just take it off if you make a big enough stink about it.

The fact that it is paid can work for you however, I was told that if you have some outstanding debt they make you pay it before you can get a home loan, so the fact it is already paid it may be overlooked by the lender.
