if i was to make payments on my past collections that are on my credit report..how long will it take an effect on my credit report? (when you pay for past collections, how fast will it show up on ur report)

Paying a collection account isnt going to raise your score. You need to work on getting the negative tradelines removed.

You can't really remove the negative information if they are legit. But you can certainly dispute the wrong information posted in it. This can help you in improving your score immensely. The credit bureaus have forms available online which you can submit to dispute an item on your report.
