Hi - hope I'm not overposting, but I wanted to work on this today and I wanted to be sure that I'm reading the steps correctly.

Once I close my bank account (done this past Friday) then I should go ahead and send out the ACH revocations - is that correct? My next scheduled payments are all due on the 17th of Feb (this Wednesday). I was thinking I needed to send out my revocations before the next payment is due so they will not send the ACH's through? I've spoken with my bank and gotten two answers. Branch manager said ACHs could possibly open account back up but he'd work with me, and customer service (corporate) stated that any ACHs sent to a closed account would just be rejected. So, do I have to even notify the PDLs of the revocation?

Also, is it time to send the wage assignment revocations - or do I wait until after they start contacting me.

I think I'm confusing myself. There's so much information here and the more I read, the more I'm unsure of the timing of everything. BTW, I posted all my pertinents on my first thread under "Thought I was stupid!"

Thanks for all you do to help us get our financial lives back!

Angela

Send the letters out with the wage assignment and ach revocation right away (since your account is closed). They will try to debit your account even though you have revoked their right to do so because they are nothing more than criminals. Take a copy of the ach revocation into your bank and show it to whoever you have been working with, this way if it does happen to reopen your account the bank will not be able to send them through because the bank must honor the ach revocation as well, it's the law (EFTA law).

Just an update: All letters are out!

1) Cash on Wheels (who owes me back the most) called me 15 minutes after I faxed my letter to them to remind me of my payment due on Wednesday and to ask if I wanted to pay down my principle. I told her that I had not interest in paying anymore on my loan since I've paid over $1,887.50 on a $300 loan, but thank you for the courtesy call and I would wait to hear about the letter I'd just faxed over asking for my refund of $1,587.50. She told me a manager had received the document and was reviewing it. That whole conversation was just strange!
2) USFastCash and OneClickCash have locked me out of my accounts so I guess they got my letters. I requested $630 and $715 in refunds respectively from them.
3) No responses yet from PDL Loan Center - owes me $270, TheCashSpot (aka ACC, aka CCS, aka Money2Advance) - owes me $245, Paycheck Today - owes me $1,105.
4) No responses yet from Solomon Finance (aka Pay1Day) asking how to pay the remaining $30 I owe them or Payment Direct, who I owe $22.
5) Cash Central was very nice about everything and told me to let the ACH bounce back Wednesday then call in to set up payments on what I owe ($295.48) and that I could do it over a period of time instead of all at once.

Thanks again for all your help - I'm going to enjoy the calm before the storm because I know it's coming! Fortunately, I work for a small company and have great rapport with payroll, my supervisor and the receptionist so I don't have to worry about my job. Wow - I just thought about the fact that I can go out with co-workers next payday and have a cocktail...woohoo!

Stay tuned...

Good morning! And yes, it's a very good morning. I actually saw every penny of my paycheck today for the first time in over a year. I cried! And all my ACH transactions were rejected so I do not have any issues with my closed checking account....what a blessing! As I stated before, OCC and USFastCash had locked me out of my accounts the same day I sent the letters, and now Paycheck Today has locked me out as well - so we'll see where we go from there on those three. OMG, I can go grocery shopping! Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the wonderful advice and support this forum provides - it's been a God-send!

Another update: And I'm also wondering if anyone has had dealings with Cash On Wheels - the 24 Loan Store. If this happens to come to fruition I will be able to buy my daughter a car for her graduation! Regardless, it's one less lender I have to worry about and I had no problem thanking them for marking my account "Do not lend...Paid in Full"!!!!!

Dear Ms. Glenn:

After considering your letter, we have decided to refund to you the $1530.00. Even though we make every effort to thoroughly explain the conditions of our loans, we also pride ourselves on customer satisfaction. We are also closing your account as ???do not lend???and paid in full,??? and will not attempt any further collection or communication on your account. We will be forwarding a cashier???s check to you with a signature verification of receipt. Thank you for your past patronage.

Sincerely,

Cash on Wheels, LLC

Wondering if any one else has had this situation happen where a company wants to refund you but can only do a credit to your account? Here is my communication with them regarding their response to me on how I wished to receive my refund. I wasn't sure how to respond, so I just threw out the first thing that came to mind - but if they come back and insist they can only do a credit, should I just let it ride? I fibbed about the 90 cooling off period, but I don't want any of these people to ever have my banking information again! (Read from the bottom up on the email trail....)

***********************

I do not....my bank requested I have a 90 cooling period due to all the issues with my PDL situation. I would think a company of your size who receives $1,000's of dollars over extended periods of time would be able to send out a simple $60 refund. Maybe you can put it on a prepaid VISA for me? I appreciate your willingness to work with me, but I do not have an active bank account at this time.

Just wanted you to know that I got a cashier's check today for $1,530 from Cash on Wheels....I am so thankful for this site...a week ago I was so depressed and unable to see how I was going to make it, and now I've got money in the bank and can take care of me and my daughter. What a difference a week and a letter makes! Thank you all!!!
