HELP!! I have multiple PDL's - a mix of storefront & online (yes, I know they are illegal here). This is literally destroying my life & I really want to work with one of these companies so I will not have to deal directly with these thieves anymore.
I have spoken with all my storefronts & they tell me that they do not have any kind of EPP.

Sorry it has been so long to respond to you. I had MAJOR computer problems. Still having trouble sending email- but I can receive them.
Anyway - I have loans out with the following:
These are all storefront.
Advance America- 350.00 = 411.76
Cashworld -374.00 = 440.00
Main Street Cash - 300.00 = 345.00
Check Exchange - 200.00 = 235.29 & 125.00 = 147.07
Cash Advance - 200.00= 235.29 & 150.00 = 150.00 = 176.47
Cash A Check - 200.00 = 225.29 & 160.00 = 188.23
Cash Express - 200.00 = 230.00 & 225.00 =258.75
Check Advance - 175.00= 205.89 & 150.00 = 176.46
Cashland - 500.00 = 588.23 I just defaulted on this one- haven't heard from collections yet. Some of those that were due the first part of the month have actually held them for me for a couple of weeks. I am not going to worry about the internet ones at this time. I can deal with them after I get rid of these. I have talked to all the storefronts about EPP's & they tell me that they do not do this & they are NOT required to do so in this state. I live in KY.
PLEASE HELP ME - THIS IS DESTROYING MY LIFE. MY HUSBAND DOES NOT KNOW ANY OF THIS & HE WILL NOT EVER KNOW. i JUST COULD NOT TAKE THE ADDED STRESS OF THAT.

Hi there, let me do a little research and get back with you. Have you defaulted on any o fthese loans? By the way, all Internet pdl's are illegal in KY, while I am researching the store fronts, CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with illegal lenders.

They are required to give you the EPP, it's not a question of will they, they MUST if you request it. If they don't, then call the CFSA at 703-684-1029 and complain!
As far as your others, you could call anonymously and ask if they are members of the CFSA, if they say yes then they too must allow you the EPP. Sometimes they aren't listed at the CFSA site, so verify it by calling and asking, you could also look around the store to see if they have a plaque hanging somewhere which states they are members of the CFSA. You need to call them out on this and make them honor the EPP if they are members. More advice to follow.

I am assuming you have defaulted on most of these? Anyway, with as many loans as you have out it's going to be difficult to outline a plan without paying out a lot of money, but, this is what I would do if I were in your shoes.
I would send them all (except the ones you can obtain an EPP with) a certified letter, return receipt requested, with a plan to pay them back. They probably won't accept it but I am sure they won't deny any payments they receive. Send them a good faith payment (with a money order) with these letters, offer to pay them back as much as you can afford, ei., let's say 20 bucks every two weeks, or whatever you are able to afford, but something. Continue to send them the amount you promised as scheduled. The point here is, this will hopefully delay being sued, and even if they do decide to go ahead and take this to court it will show the judge that you were at least making an effort, and even better, could be by the time you do end up in court these loans will be close to being paid off. Make sure you keep a copy of all correspondence back and forth, and keep copies of all money orders sent to them. You may need all this documentation in court. That's what I would do.
I called CFSA & asked them about EPP's for their members in KY.
I called CFSA & asked them about EPP's for their members in KY. They told me that KY is one of the states that (even though they are members of CFSA), they are "not required to do the EPP due to KY law".
I added up all the fees that I am paying monthly - & it came up to over $500 - so even if I pay DDS, it will be less than I'm paying now.
The only one that I've defaulted on is Cashland.

I'm sorry to hear that but don't give up yet, you can still ask these store front lenders if they have any plans like the EPP. All they can say is no. You really need to let them know you are enduring a hardship. It doesn't hurt to try. Otherwise, if they are unwilling to help you out and you end up defaulting I would stick to the plan of sending them letters and a good faith first payment.

Yep, I agree. I've heard a couple of the locally owned storefrots say that "we just show up at people's houses & they ALWAYS pay after that". I CANNOT let that happen to me. I will talk to them all again & see what I can come up with.
BTW- I talked to a storefront & she told me that they used to have storefronts in OH. She said that OH passed a law that greatly decreased the % they can charge, so they closed all their OH stores. She said that she looked for the same to happen in KY around June & if so, ALL these palces will be closing due to the fact that "we just won't be able to make any money" Hope she was right!!

Well, unfortunately the law in OH which decreased the interest rates significantly opened a new can of worms. The store front payday lenders are now advertising their-selves as Credit Service Organizations, which by the way aren't regulated by the DFI, and that means they can charge any amount of interest they so desire, all they need to do is register with the secretary of the state. Kinda a catch 22 deal.

The gal I talked with said that the "upcoming law" is the reason some of the PDL companies are starting to "expand" & advertise that they will buy gold, do tax returns, etc.
I hope every last one of these thieves get what they deserve. They have made so many lives miserable.
