I am considering Debt Settlement and there is so much information on this website that I need to cut to the chase. I see that there are a number of approved Debt Relief Companies, Vendors, Consultants, etc. Has anyone actually worked with any of these approved companies? Is anyone willing to provide me with a solid recomendation on who to work with, or at least talk to regarding dealing with my credit card debt and student loan?

There are a lot of approved companies or individuals on this website, and in my opinion, if they are approved by this website than they are likely good. I have only worked with on such approved person, and that is a consultant by the name of Doug Johnson. Now, I did not use Doug Johnson for credit card or student loan debt relief, but he did talk to me about some incredible services he had for those types of debts. I used Doug for help with my foreclosure, and he referred me to The Home Ownership Program, and this program has not only saved my home, but allowed me to gain equity in my home. but that is off subject. What I liked most about Doug is that he is an independent debt relief consultant, he charges nothing for his ongoing consultations, and he refers people to a number of different debt relief companies that he has researched. So, depending on your specific situation, he can point you in the right direction, and it does not cost you anything to speak with him. I am sure others on this forum have used him.

I consulted with Doug Johnson when I was researching how to deal with my credit card debt. Not sure what he can do for student loans, but he definately had some great options for credit card debt. Really kind of boutique, outside the box type stuff. Not just Debt Settlement. I would definately agree that he is someone worth consulting with. What I liked about Doug was that he put no pressure on me to sign up for anything. He just did a great job explaining my options. I haven't taken any action yet in terms of joining a program, but that's not becuase Doug didn't help me a lot.
