I have stopped paying two of my credit cards. When they start calling looking for payment do I try to talk to them about settleing right away or do I wait a couple of missed payment to bring it up or do I let them bring it up?

should i make any payments at all until getting a settlement offer? for example one card that's around 120 days late is asking me to pay $100 to keep it from charging off. is that a good idea or should i just stall until they make a settlement offer?

I have taken calls and simply state we would like to settle, and will have to ask family for help if we do so. They keep pushing a payment plan and I simply tell them we cannot commit to that option. I am working with B of A. They have been very polite, however, did state that if I can pay AE then I can pay them, even though we were using AE for groceries, gas, etc. So now I have stopped using that also. It is just a red flag.

Most will say no and just let charge off. However, if you think you need another month or two to save for settlement then you could pay just to buy time.
