Has anyone ever gotten a court summons from Glasser and Glasser?

I would like to give them the what for. But really what can we do but to owe them for the rest of our life. I have been making payments for the last year and it went from a little over 4000.00 to 9000.00

What the summons is for?

Glasser and Glasser is a collection agency based in Norfolk, VA. IMO you need to file a reply to the summons to stop them from getting a default judgement against you. You can check out with the county court clerk for assistance. Also, if you can't recognise the debt or not sure about the amount, you may file a motion for discovery along with your reply.

I think we should sue them for extortion. Start a class-action suit against them for collecting outrageous amounts unrelated to the original amount owed. All those in favor of this, please contact me. I will hire an attorney to help us. We will all have to participate, but it will be worth it to get these people sanctioned by the Court for illegal collection practices. Let's ban together on this, folks. We can beat these people and get money back if the Court deems it appropriate that these people are dishonest. Of course, I have to find a law firm to handle the case, but that should be easy.

I was summoned to appear in court for these guys, I showed up and had never been served the papers correctly, so before the court started I had to be taken in a side room and officially served the papers. So the first court visit was to set an actual trial date, a week before the second date my lawyer informed me that they "non-suited" and that was it, that I didn't need to go to court. Basically they couldn't find their correct paperwork, because I was disputing the amount their "client" said I owed. Not even 3 weeks later, after they non-suited, I started getting collection statements from their client again.... hummm.... I know others who have gone against these dushes and because they showed up with out a lawyer G&G continued the case on, but the ones I know that got a lawyer, they always seem to non-suit. Wonder what that's all about....

We showed up to our summons and court date, filed all the right paperwork with out hiring a lawyer and they filed non-suit. They basically file non-suit if you actually show up and plead not guilty. The thing that blew my mind was how many people either did not show up, or showed up and stated to the Judge that they did indeed owe the debt. At that point the Judge just rulled against them and put them into the garnishment system.

When 99 out of 100 people don't show up or plead guilty, why not go after all the bad debt out there. People are stupid.
