Ok, so several months ago I took out a $500 pdl with mycashnow.com. Then before my first payment was scheduled i lost my job and was not able to make any payments. I took advice from this forum and sent them a certified letter saying that their loan was illegal in my state (PA) and that I would not pay any fees or interest but would pay the principal. I asked that all future communication be done through mail. So I sent that certified they recieved it and I havent heard back since. Until today when I got a call from an Indian gentleman named "John". He said they were filling charges against me which include theft by deception, interstate check fraud and some other stuff i cant remember. He said he was unable to send me anything in writing and that my only option would be to make payments of at least $105 a month until the settlement amount of $478 is paid off. I am completley fine with paying this off, my only problem is that I am not working and can only afford $50 a month. The guy said if it is not at least $105 they will follow through and file charges.

What should I do? Please help!!!!

mycashnow is an illegal lender, and sold your info to a scam in INDIA.do not talk to them further.they can't do anything they threatened.sorry for the job loss, but you did the right thing in sending mycashnow the letters.them being illegal decided to sell your info.file police reports for the threats, and then file FTC,and AG complaints.i would also file the same complaints against mycashnow as well for selling your info.again a scam.both the pdl and the idiot in INDIA.file the police report, and complaints.then do not speak to them again.nothing he said he can or will do.talking to him will only get you more calls.

i would contact mycashnow once to find out about your loan.see what happens.i would not pay the scam in INDIA.again your old pdl info had all that info.they do not have your new account, nor will they unless you give it to them.if mycashnow won't accept payment.there is nothing you can do about it.whatever you do do not pay unless mycashnow accepts payment in the form of a money order.nothing else.do not pay the idiot in INDIA.he has old bank info.i would put a fraud alert on your credit report just to be safe, but they can't do squat to you.
