I'm receiving phone calls from allied interstate 877-375-6992. The only reason I can think of is that I had a payday loan through Beacon. I paid 4 installments of 89.00 on a 200.00 loan. When learning that these loans are illegal in the state of Pennsylvania, I took the advice on this website and closed my bank account. I've paid this loan and more and am not doing anymore and also not giving anyone my cc information. How should I handle this from now on?

When you call Allied State, tell them they are attempting to collect on an illegal loan, also tell them they need to send you a dunning letter (letter of collection) thru the mail as required by the federal law (FDCPA). I wouldn't admit to owing a debt over the phone, I would insist that they send you the documentation, at that time you will have 30 days to dispute it.

I have tried contacting Allied Interstate and can get nowhere. Is it feasible to try to contact them by email? I have an email address advocacygroup@allied-interstate.com < advocacygroup@allied-interstate.com>. I would like to get validation of any business they might have with me in writing from them and also send the CD letter. Is email an acceptable way to contact them?

I finally got ahold of someone at that Allied Interstate at the 877-375-6992. I asked them what the nature of their business was with me, and someone named "Marvin" didn't disclose anything, just repeated my phone number and said it would be removed from their list. I warned them that if these calls continued they would be hearing from our state's AG. I did file a complaint with the Florida BBB just because of the nuisance of having someone calling and then hanging up. We'll see what happens.

Good for you! If they continue to call you please file complaints against them with the FTC too!
